Dear colleague,

You are cordially invited to visit www.mantleplumes.org which contains
extensive resources that may be useful to your research and teaching.

www.mantleplumes.org posts material relevant to the debate regarding the
existence or otherwise of mantle plumes at particular localities, and in
general. Contributions advocating any shade of opinion on the subject are
welcomed.

The following may be of particular interest to you:

*Short, webpage summaries of papers*, ideas and models concerning:

– mechanisms of formation of melting anomalies (via links upper-most on the
home page)
– generic issues relevant to melting anomalies (via links left-most on the
home page)
– discussion of particular localities (via the pull-down menu on the home
page)

*A blog of recent relevant papers*, updated weekly:
http://www.mantleplumes.org/RecentPapers.html

*Links to over 40 Powerpoint presentations*, containing many slides that may
be useful to you: http://www.mantleplumes.org/PPPs.html

*A list of the top 100 items ever published in Earth science*, with links to
many of them (a work currently in progress):
http://www.mantleplumes.org/Foundations.html

We are pleased to post contributions from everyone. These may include
extended-abstract-length summaries of recent papers or ideas, links to your
recent papers, advertisements for books, conferences or meeting sessions you
may be leading, brief comments, or anything else you feel contributes to the
debate.

All new items are advertised on the home page before being permanently
archived.

The website receives ~ 75-150 visitors per day (click on the blue number
bottom left on the home page to see continually-updated statistics).

I hope you will find the resources useful and will consider contributing.

Best regards,

Gillian R. Foulger
