Climate Changes, Bioevents and Geochronology in the Atlantic and
Mediterranean over the last 23 myr.
We would like to draw your attention to the RCMNS-RCANS Interim Coloquium
that will be held in Salamanca (Spain), September 2011, 21-23
The increasing accuracy of the time-scales used for the correlation of
marine, lake and and terrestrial records together with the recovery of
excellent climate records in the Northern and Southern Atlantic and the
Mediterranean have provided new clues to understand the natural behaviour
of Earth´s climate as well as the evolution of terrestrial and marine
ecosystems. Deep sea sapropels in the Mediterranean as well as the
astronomically-driven rhythmic sections along the Mediterranean marginal
basins and the Atlantic have been crucial for the elaboration of the
astronomical time scale and its calibration with radiometric time. In this
meeting we are pleased to welcome all Scientists interested on the
climatic, biologic and geologic history of the Atlantic and Mediterranean
over the last 23 Myr. The interim Coloquium will be held in Salamanca
(Spain) in September 2011, 21-23. Salamanca is a World Heritage City and
one of the most beautiful towns in Spain.
