Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to attend the 2010 AGU Meeting of the Americas in Foz do
Iguassu, Brazil, from August 8th to August 13th, 2010.

In particular, we are inviting you to participate in GP09 session:
"Magnetic Methods Applied to Hydrocarbon Exploration".

The deadline to submit an abstract is 31 March 2010.

Session GP09: Due to their low cost and non-invasive nature, magnetic
methods alone or combined with other geophysical techniques, e.g.
geochemical studies), have been used in the last twenty years to study
the near-surface expression of hydrocarbon micro-seepage in oil fields
and other prospective areas. The aim of this session is to provide a
platform for the reporting studies that have applied magnetic
techniques to hydrocarbon exploration. Studies of remagnetization and
dating of diagenetic events (e.g., clay diagenesis) related to
hydrocarbon exploration are also encouraged. History cases, reviews
and new studies in these areas are welcomed.
