Description:	 We solicit new results from recent and ongoing seismic,
tectonic, and magmatic studies in the Central Andes that provide
important constraints on the geometry of the subducting slab,
lithospheric and crustal thicknesses, and the physical properties of
the crust and mantle wedge from the Peruvian flat slab across the Puna
Altiplano plateau to the Chilean/Pampean flat slab region. These data
provide new insights into processes such as slab flattening and
coupling, mantle flow, lithospheric delamination, magma production,
plateau uplift and mountain building.
