Salary:  £25,116 - £27,444       Base: Coleraine
Closing date: 13 May 2011

The postholder will conduct research on a NERC funded post and attempt
to reconstruct the stress history of the Sunda Megathrust west of
Sumatra using coral-based paleogeodesy and historical earthquake
catalogues as well as modern instrumental records. This research will
lead to a quantitative assessment of our ability to forecast
earthquake slip distributions given a long (1000 year) stressing
history.
