Dear all,

Please forward the adds for 1 phd and 3 post doctoral fellow positions
below to anybody potentially interested.

Best regards,
Ritske Huismans

3 postdoctoral fellowships and 1 research fellow (PhD position) available
in the MultiRifts Project, Department of Earth Science, University of
Bergen

The MultiRifts Project is a new three-year collaborative research effort
by the Universities of Bergen, Oslo, Manchester and Imperial College
London and is funded by the Research Council of Norway through the
Petromaks programme and Statoil ASA. The project will investigate the
structural, topographic and sedimentary development of rift basins and
normal fault zones where pre-existing structure heterogeneity within the
basement and/or cover affect rift and normal growth. The project will be
organized in three themes:

Theme 1: Analysis of subsurface data from the North Sea rift system.
Theme 2: Numerical modelling of pre-existing structural control on rift
and normal fault evolution.
Theme 3: Numerical modelling of fault growth and surface processes.

We are seeking highly motivated candidates with proven research potential
for the following positions:
1. Research fellow (PhD candidate) in Theme 1. Structural geology of
multiphase rift basins (based on subsurface data analysis)

Theme Leaders: Professor Haakon Fossen, Associate Professor Atle Rotevatn
and Professor Rob Gawthorpe (e-mail:
haakon.fossen en geo.uib.no<mailto:haakon.fossen en geo.uib.no>)
Details on this position can be found at:
http://www.jobbnorge.no/job.aspx?jobid=88108

2. Postdoctoral fellow in Theme 1. Structural geology of multiphase rift
basins (based on subsurface data analysis)

Theme Leaders: Professor Haakon Fossen, Associate Professor Atle Rotevatn,
Professor Rob Gawthorpe (e-mail:
haakon.fossen en geo.uib.no<mailto:haakon.fossen en geo.uib.no>)
Details on this position can be found at:
http://www.jobbnorge.no/job.aspx?jobid=88122

3. Postdoctoral fellow in Theme 2. Coupled 2D and 3D geodynamic and
surface process modelling of rift basins

Theme Leader: Professor Ritske Huismans (e-mail:
ritske.huismans en geo.uib.no<mailto:ritske.huismans en geo.uib.no>)
Details on this position can be found at:
http://www.jobbnorge.no/job.aspx?jobid=88121

4. Postdoctoral fellow in Theme 3. Syn-rift surface processes

Theme Leader: Professor Patience Cowie (e-mail:
patience.cowie en geo.uib.no<mailto:patience.cowie en geo.uib.no>)
Details on this position can be found at:
http://www.jobbnorge.no/job.aspx?jobid=88100

There is a common deadline for all applications of 15 December 2012.
