I would like to draw your attention to the availability of 10 PhD
positions in "simulation of earth system processes", funded by the
Helmholtz Graduate Research School GeoSim in Potsdam / Berlin, Germany.
Currently, 23 students from 9 countries and 3 continents are enrolled.

In short:
- 18 participating research groups at FU Berlin, GFZ Potsdam and Potsdam
University
- research on the interface between geoscience and mathematics
- co-supervision by an earth scientist and a mathematician
- applicants write their own research proposal (this may be supported by
the potential supervisor)
- research school offers basic and advanced courses, soft skill courses,
an annual summer school and workshops
- 3-year fellowship of 1500 euro monthly, tax free
- annual travel allowance of 1200 euro
