Faculty Position in Geophysics, Department of Geology, University of
Maryland, College Park

The Department of Geology at the University of Maryland, College Park,
seeks an outstanding scientist for a tenure-track Assistant Professor
position in Geophysics, including but not limited to active tectonics, geodesy,
geodynamics, mineral physics, seismology, exploration geophysics, and
geomorphology. The appointee will be expected to establish and maintain an
active, externally funded research program that will involve both graduate
and undergraduate students, and to participate fully in teaching at the
graduate and undergraduate levels. We particularly encourage applications
from those who integrate across traditional disciplinary boundaries.

A Ph.D. in geophysics, geology, natural sciences, engineering, or a related
discipline is required at the time of appointment. The appointment may
begin as early as July 1, 2014. Review of applications will begin in
January, and will be ongoing until the position is filled.
