Subject: [Gpmag-l] FALL 2014 AGU SWARM Session: Please think of submitting
an abstract
To: gpmag-l en mailman.ucsd.edu

Dear Colleagues

Please consider celebrating the first year in space of the SWARM
triplets, Alpha, Bravo and Charlie !

Submitting an abstract to this very "spatial" session is definitely the
best way to proceed.

Please do so before the DEADLINE of August 6, 2014.

We look forward to see you there !

See details below,

Gauthier, Hermann, Eigil and Dave

Session 2642: ESA's Swarm Mission, One Year in Space

Description: The three satellites of the Swarm mission, fifth Earth
Explorer mission in ESA's Living Planet Programme, were launched on
November 22, 2013. By the time of this session, and after several months of
commissioning, more than a year of data will have been made available to
the community, providing high-accuracy and high spatial resolution
measurements of the strength, direction and time variations of the magnetic
field, complemented by precise navigation, accelerometer and electric field
measurements. This session is meant to provide a forum to all of those who
wish to share results from, or related to, this mission, in any of the
scientific fields (e.g., geomagnetism, ionospheric-thermospheric sciences,
gravimetry) in which the Swarm mission can be expected to bring new
insight, thanks, in particular, to its constellation design. Synergetic
results from Swarm, other satellite missions, and ground data are
particularly welcome.

Conveners:
G. Hulot (IPGP, Paris, France)
H. Lühr (GFZ, Potsdam, Germany)
E. Friis-Christensen (DTU, Lyngby, Denmark)
D. Knudsen (Univ. Calgary, Canada)

Primary Section/Focus Group:
Geomagnetism and Paleomagnetism
