[Geoinfo] Postergación VIII Congreso Latinoamericano de Sedimentología - XVII Reunión Argentina de Sedimentología (XVII RAS)

[REUNIÓN ARGENTINA DE SEDIMENTOLOGÍA]

Estimados colegas:

Debido a los riesgos sanitarios y administrativos asociados con la
propagación mundial actual de la enfermedad de Covid-19, y debido a las
estrictas medidas de emergencia tomadas por el Gobierno argentino, vigentes
hasta nuevo aviso, los organizadores locales y la AAS decidimos
posponer el *VIII
Congreso Latinoamericano de Sedimentología (VIII CLS)* y la *XVII Reunión
Argentina de Sedimentología (XVII RAS)* programados para el 8-11 de junio
de 2020, en Paraná (Argentina).

Hemos decidido conjuntamente reprogramar el congreso al *8-11 de junio de
2021. *La información detallada sobre las fechas de reapertura para el
envío de resúmenes, inscripción, reembolsos, etc. se anunciará lo antes
posible a través del sitio web de AAS, el correo oficial del congreso y en
las redes sociales.

La salud, la seguridad y el bienestar de todos los participantes y
organizadores, expositores, invitados y patrocinadores son nuestra
prioridad. Agradecemos a los colegas que han enviado los resúmenes y a
quienes pagaron ya su inscripción. Estamos convencidos de que la
reprogramación de la XVII Reunión RAS - VIII CLS en Paraná (Argentina) es
la mejor solución sobre cómo reducir los resultados adversos derivados de
la situación actual.

Pedimos disculpas por cualquier inconveniente que esto pueda ocasionarles,
pero es una emergencia que está fuera de nuestro control. Solicitamos su
comprensión y su importante participación en la nueva fecha del Congreso,
ofreciendo nuestro compromiso y hospitalidad para llevar a cabo una
excelente reunión.

En cuanto el Comité Organizador pueda reunirse haremos circular información
más detallada.

Dear colleagues,

Due to the health and administrative risks associated with the current
global spread of the Covid-19 disease, and due to strict emergency measures
taken by the Argentine government, effective until further notice, the
local organizers and the AAS decided to postpone the* VIII Latin-American
Congress of Sedimentology (CLS Congress) and the XVII Argentine Meeting of
Sedimentology **(RAS Meeting),* scheduled for June 8–11, 2020, in  Paraná
(Argentina).

Both jointly decided to reschedule the congress for a year: *June 8-11,
2021.  *Detailed information about the re-opening dates for the submission
of abstracts, registration, refunds, etc will be announced as soon as
possible through the AAS website, the official mail of the congress and in
social media.

The health, safety and well-being of all participants and organizers,
exhibitors, guests and sponsors are our priority. We would like to thank
all colleagues that have sent the abstracts and who already paid the
registration. We are convinced that rescheduling of the  XVII RAS - VIII
CLS Congress in Paraná (Argentina) for a year is the best solution on how
to reduce any adverse outcomes stemming from the current situation.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may bring to you, but it is an
emergency that is beyond our control. We ask for your understanding and
your important participation in the new date of the Congress, being able to
count to the maximum with our commitment and hospitality to make an
excellent meeting.

As soon as the Organizing Committee can meet we will circulate more
detailed information.
