mineralogía de desechos mineros y drenaje de minas, el Dr. Bernhard Dold
(SUMIRCO)

En el marco del proyecto UNESCO IGCP-707, este* viernes 11 de junio a las
11 AM de Argentina* el Dr. Bernhard Dold dará una charla sobre remediación
de arsénico en desechos mineros depositados en ambientes marinos costeros.

Su charla se titula "How mine waste remediation intercepts the natural
arsenic flow at a marine shore tailings deposit"

Dr. Bernhard Dold is the President and Director of SUMIRCO (Sustainable
Mining Research & Consultancy EIRL), San Pedro de la Paz, Chile. He has
been active in Academia for the last 20 years in teaching and research in
Sweden, Chile, Spain, and Switzerland. He obtained his Ph.D. at the
University of Geneva, Switzerland in 1999, and received his Habilitation
(Privat-Docent) on “Acid Mine Drainage: Formation, Control, and Prevention”
at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland in 2005. The main focus of his
research and consulting activities is the mineralogy and geochemistry with
applications related to the characterization, control, prevention, and
remediation of environmental pollution. Furthermore, he specializes in the
study of acid rock drainage in mine waste and ore deposits for a more
sustainable mining operation.
