Dr. Catterina Ferreccio is a Professor at the Pontificia Universidad
Católica de Chile, and is subdirector of the Chronic Disease Advanced
Center (ACCDiS) and director of Cohorte MAUCO. She has researched the
effects of chronic As exposure of inhabitants in Antofagasta, Chile.
Currently she works on gallbladder cancer and the prevention of stomach
cancer, long term effects of arsenic exposure from drinking water, as well
as field tests for the detection of cervical uterine cancer. She has
studied the occurrence of chronic disease and cancer based on extensive
population databases.
