Estimadas/s colegas
Cordialmente invitados/as
CONVENERS: DR. PABLO J. PAZOS (ARGENTINA) Y DR. FRANCISCO J RODRÍGUEZ
TOVAR (ESPAÑA)
ICHNOLOGY: FROM ICHNOTAXONMY, THE ICHNOFACIES PARADIGM TO APPLICATIONS
IN PALEOENVIRONMENTAL RECONSTRUCTIONS FROM MARINE TO CONTINENTAL
ENVIRONMENTS
The session moves from traditional ichnotaxonomy, applications of the
ichnofacies concept, to the role of biogenic structures in
paleoenvironmental reconstructions in outcrops and subsurface studies.
It invites us to discuss new ichnological approaches for refining
paleoenvironmental interpretations in the framework of the ichnofacies
paradigm. The applied ichnology is about the study of cores to
paleonvironmental characterizations but also to analyse petrophysical
and reservoir studies are included in this session. Contributions about
neoichnology are welcome, as a window to improve the understanding of
ancient ichnological records. The scope of the session involves marine
marginal marine and continental studies using combined proxies to refine
paleocological and paleonvironmental analysis and the ichnological
variations in the geological record with a special interest in
comparisons between records in Gondwana and Laurasia.
6th INTERNATIONAL PALAEONTOLOGICAL CONGRESS (IPC6) THAILAND
KHON KAEN 7TH - 11TH November 2022
The deadline, 15th June 2022, for the submission of abstracts for IPC6
is fast approaching. Some excursions are filling-up fast so now is a
good time to register (https://ipc6.msu.ac.th [1]). Thailand is opening
up, all domestic and many international flights are returning to
pre-covid levels and the Thailand Pass system presently only requires
proof of vaccination and insurance with no testing requirements. It is
expected that the Thai Pass online system will be scrapped in the next
few months. Diverse pre- and post-congress excursions are planned
covering, for example, the Gondwana Palaeozoic of southern Thailand's
tropical islands, the tropical Palaeozoic of the Indochina Terrane, and
the dinosaur, mammal, fish and plant bearing Mesozoic to Pleistocene
sediments of central and NE Thailand.
Thanks again for all your effort to help us convene the session.
Sorry in case you have received multiple messages.
With best regards
