[Geoinfo] Deadline extension Special Issue "Tectonostratigraphic evolution of Patagonia” (JSAES)

Dear colleagues,
We would like to inform you that the deadline for submitting contributions
to the Special Issue of the Journal of South American Earth Sciences
entitled “Tectonostratigraphic evolution of Patagonia” has been
extended to *MAY
20, 2024**.*

This Special Issue aims to celebrate the retirement of Professor Dr. Raúl
Eduardo Giacosa, a career in Structural Geology and Tectonics of Patagonia.
During his long-lasting and influential career as a Structural Geologist of
the Argentine Geological Survey (SEGEMAR), Scientist, and Educator, Prof.
Giacosa has made significant contributions to basement geology,
metamorphism, and ductile deformation, the stratigraphy of the
volcano-sedimentary cover, structural and kinematic analysis, tectonics,
and related mineral resources of the hidden and untamed Patagonia. With
this Special Issue, we take the opportunity to celebrate his contributions
and reflect on his research’s impact on the field. Submissions on these and
related topics are welcome. The authors invited are not limited to Prof.
Giacosa’s students, postdocs, colleagues, and collaborators. Contributions
from scholars whom Prof. Giacosa has influenced are strongly encouraged.
