Criteria for inclusion of new scientific publication channels</h1>

To be included in the Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers, publication channels must meet the following minimum requirements:</p>

<li style="margin: 0px; padding: 3px 0px; line-height: 1.5em;" class=""><u style="line-height: 1.22em;" class="">Established procedures for external peer review</u>. The concept of external peer review refers to various forms of editorial procedures that differ
between academic fields and publication channels, and which indicate that the manuscript has been evaluated by one or more independent experts on the subject matter</li><li style="margin: 0px; padding: 3px 0px; line-height: 1.5em;" class=""><u style="line-height: 1.22em;" class="">An academic editorial board</u> (or an equivalent) primarily consisting of researchers from universities, research institutes etc.</li><li style="margin: 0px; padding: 3px 0px; line-height: 1.5em;" class=""><u style="line-height: 1.22em;" class="">International or national authorship</u><br style="line-height: 1.22em;" class="">

Authorship of a publication channel is defined in accordance with the following operational criteria:

<li style="margin: 0px; padding: 3px 0px; line-height: 1.5em;" class="">Authorship is international when less than two-thirds of the authors published in the publication channel are from the same country</li><li style="margin: 0px; padding: 3px 0px; line-height: 1.5em;" class="">Authorship is national when more than two-thirds of the authors published in the publication channel are from the same country</li><li style="margin: 0px; padding: 3px 0px; line-height: 1.5em;" class="">Authorship is local when more than two-thirds of the authors published in the publication channel are from the same institution</li></ul>
Scientific publication channels with local authorship will not be included in the Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers. National authorship is required as a minimum if external peer review is to function properly in a scientific
publication channel. It is questionable whether external peer review can function satisfactorily for publication channels that primarily represent an institution’s own researchers. NSD determines the authorship of publication channels by reviewing the issues
published during the two last years. Only original publications will be considered. Translated works that have already been published will not be considered.</li></ol>

<div class="">I have and work in Argentinas geology since 1996 and would like to publish several data sets which are especially of importance for the RAGA as they touch regional issues in areas where rarely geologists do work (in the Argentinian Puna).</div>
