[Latinmag] Mag-Instruments: introduction of a new company offering products for rock- and paleomagnetic research

Dear community,

I'm a Managing Director of Mag-Instruments, a young company founded in 
Germany (Munich) in 2014 by specialists in geophysics, robotics and 
mechatronics, and cooperating with the Geophysics group at the 
University of Munich (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität). We are developing 
state-of-the-art technology for the rock- and paleomagnetic community. 
Our aim is to support and boost research by providing reliable, accurate 
and innovative equipment combined with first-hand service and support.

Currently we offer the following two products:

1) Portable Spinning Magnetometer (PSM) - a long awaited replacement for 
Minispin from Molspin Ltd., which can measure one-inch core samples with 
almost double dynamic range of the original device (10^-3 to 10^4 A/m) 
and much smaller, truly portable form factor. It is also the first 
device on the market which can indicate the homogeneity of the sample.

2) Variable Field Translation Balance (VFTB) - a very versatile and 
highly affordable device for magnetic characterization of materials. It 
is also the only device on the market which can simultaneously measure 
reversible susceptibility and irreversible magnetization of a sample, 
which is especially useful for phase discrimination in thermoremanent

In the near future, we will be offering other types of laboratory 
equipment (e.g., a new version of the Triaxe is under development in 
collaboration with the Paris group) as well as instruments for taking 
oriented samples in the field.
