Dear Colleagues,

This is a kind reminder that the abstract submission deadline for the
upcoming EGU 2019 General Assembly | Vienna | Austria | 7 – 12 April
2019 <https://www.egu2019.eu/> is approaching soon!

Abstract submission deadline: *10 January 2019 (13:00 CET)
*

*Important note about the one-abstract rule**
*Since 2019, the one-abstract rule is introduced, however, the
one-abstract rule applies to the first (submitting) author. It is
therefore possible that someone is presenting author on a couple of
abstracts but he/she can only be the first author on one abstract.

We kindly invite you to participate in the following session:

Session Title (EMRP3.6 – Paleomagnetism)
*PALEOMAGNETISM AND MAGNETIC FABRIC: RECENT ADVANCES AND APPLICATIONS*
<https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2019/session/32025>*
*

*Session Description**
*Recent methodological and instrumental advances in paleomagnetic and
magnetic fabric techniques are continuously increasing their already
high potential in solving research questions in various Earth science
disciplines. Integrated paleomagnetic and magnetic fabric studies,
together with structural geology and petrology, are very efficient tools
in increasing our knowledge about sedimentological, tectonic and
volcanic processes, both on regional and global scales. This session is
intended to give an opportunity to present innovative theoretical or
methodological paleomagnetic and magnetic fabric works and their direct
applications in different geological settings. Especially welcome are
contributions combining paleomagnetic and magnetic fabric data retrieved
by several means of fabric analysis (magnetic and non-magnetic), or
novel approaches in data evaluation. We also solicit contributions from
both experimental and theoretical aspects of paleomagnetic
reconstructions, remagnetisation processes and acquisition of petrofabrics.

*Solicited Speakers**
*1. *Eric C. Ferré* (University of Louisiana at Lafayette, U.S.A.) &
co-authors: /Magnetic fabric in pseudotachylites/

2. *Pablo Calvín* (Universidad de Burgos, Spain) & co-authors:
/Interfolding remagnetizations as a key to restore pre-compressional
structures: the case of the 100 Ma remagnetization of the Central //High
Atlas (Morocco)/

*Yours Session Conveners**

  * Martin Chadima (Czech Republic)
  * Bjarne Almqvist (Sweden)
  * Francesca Cifelli (Italy)
  * Mat Domeier (Norway)
  * Pedro Silva (Portugal)
