HIGH RESOLUTION STRATIGRAPHY AND MAGNETOSTRATIGRAPHY OF CRETACEOUS SESSIONS
(HAUTERIVIANO-BARREMIANO) IN THE BRAZILIAN SEA

The general objective of this project is to establish a high-resolution
stratigraphic framework of the sessions between Hauterivian and Barremian
of the basins of the east and southeastern Brazil. Thus, it is intended to
expand knowledge about paleoenvironmental, oceanographic and climatic
conditions, as well as the influence of orbital parameters on the records
of the initial rift (continental), transitional and marine phases of the
Sergipe-Alagoas to Santos basins. In order to achieve these objectives,
systematic sedimentological, lithostratigraphic and magnetostratigraphic
analyzes will be carried out on cores and data from wells in basins on the
east / southeast bank, as well as outcrops in the Sergipe-Alagoas basin.



SALARY: R$ 7,373.10

PERIOD: 24 months



SUPERVISOR: Prof. Dr. Luigi Jovane

INSTITUTION: University of São Paulo, Institute Oceanographic

REQUISITES: Degree in Oceanography/Geology/Geosciences/Geophysics, with PhD
in Paleomagnetism.

PROFILE: The candidate must know techniques of paleomagnetism. Additionally,
the candidate should have knowledge of magnetostratigraphy,
paleoceanography and cyclostratigraphy.
