RECENT ADVANCES AND GEOLOGICAL APPLICATIONS</b></a><b
class=""><br class="">
</b><br class="">
<b class="">Session Description</b><b class=""><br
class="">
</b>
<blockquote class=""><b class=""> </b><i class="">The
recent methodological and instrumental advances
in paleomagnetism and magnetic fabric research
further increased their already high potential
in solving geological, geophysical, and tectonic
problems. Integrated paleomagnetic and magnetic
fabric studies, together with structural geology
and petrology, are very efficient tools in
increasing our knowledge about sedimentological,
tectonic or volcanic processes, both on regional
and global scales. This session is intended to
give an opportunity to present innovative
theoretical or methodological works and their
direct applications in various geological
settings. Especially welcome are contributions
combining paleomagnetic and magnetic fabric
data, integrating various magnetic fabric
techniques, combining magnetic fabric with other
means of fabric analysis, or showing novel
approaches in data evaluation and modelling. We
also highly solicit contributions showing all
aspects of paleomagnetic reconstructions,
acquisition of characteristic remanence and
remagnetisations applied to solving geotectonic
problems.</i><br class="">

<pre class="moz-quote-pre" wrap="">EGU is currently still planning on a hybrid meeting with the format as described on the EGU22 website (<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://egu22.eu/about/provisional_meeting_format.html">https://egu22.eu/about/provisional_meeting_format.html</a>):
- Oral/poster sessions will include on-site oral presentations in a lecture room accompanied by physical poster sessions in the poster halls. These sessions are adapted to in-person participation only.
- The vPICO session format will combine the well-established on-site PICO concept with the vPICO concept experimented with at vEGU21, and will allow both on-site and virtual participation by presenters and other participants.
- All scientific sessions (vPICO, poster or oral) will offer the possibility of uploading presentation materials. Authors can additionally provide a pre-recorded presentation that will be housed on the Copernicus Vimeo channel. If authors opt for the commenting option, conference participants can comment on presentations during a 2-month period around the General Assembly.
