Dear All,
Next DRT will be held in Oviedo (Spain) between 31st August and 2nd September.For this edition of DRT we propose six conference topics to which we invite you to submit abstracts:
1. Crustal-scale deformation: brittle-ductile and/or frictional-plastic transition in rocks2. Fluids, metamorphism and deformation
3. Tectonics and earth surface processes4. Microstructure of deformed rocks5. Folding mechanisms6. Applied aspects of structural geology and geomechanics
Keynote talks and speakers at the meeting are:
- "The brittle-plastic transition during the seismic cycle" by Claudia Trepmann, Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich
- "A hydromechanical model for lower crustal fluid flow" by James Connolly, ETH Zürich
- "River catchments of the Himalaya as self-correcting strain markers" by Hugh Sinclair, University of Edinburgh
- "The Microstructural and Rheological Evolution of Shear Zones" by Nick Austin, Imperial Oil
- "Using a modified Fry method for fabric analysis" by Richard Lisle, University of Cardiff
- "The effect of CO2-brine-rock interaction on the mechanical properties of intact rocks" by Suzanne Hangx, Shell

The call for abstracts is open now. Deadline is 10 June 2011.Registration will open after 11 April and will have two deadlines: for reduced registration 30 June, for normal registration 31 July.
