a continuacion transcribo el mail enviado 31 de diciembre sobre el futuro del Isag en Antofagasta enviado por los organizadores


 

Dear colleagues,



Thank you very much for your positive response to the 8th ISAG. Unfortunately,
we have to inform you that due to several administrative problems, in part related
to the situation of the Chilean universities during this year, we had an
important delay in the symposium's organization which explains the lack of
information concerning the ISAG. In addition, given that these problems remain
unsolved, the perspectives for the next 2012 are uncertain. Under such a
situation there is a consensus of the local organizing committee that we cannot
proceed with the organization of the next ISAG in April 2012, and new
possibilities must be discussed aimed to organize the ISAG in the Andean
context.
 
We hope you will understand
this decision and we deeply apologize for the potential problems issued of this
decision.
 
 
On the other hand, we
inform you that in the framework of the next "Chilean Geological
congres" (http://www.congresogeologico.ucn.cl) we are organizing a session about Andean
Geodynamics. This congress will be held in Antofagasta in August 2012. For
those interested in participate, please let us know.
