opportunity with our research group at the Freie Universität Berlin to the attention of prospective
candidates.Mark Handy  FREIE UNIVERSITÄT BERLIN The Department of Earth
Science is advertising a post-Doc position (4 years) in TectonicsWe
seek a young scientist who will pursue independent research in Tectonics,
particularly related to the evolution of fault and shear zones in the
continental lithosphere. This can involve combining structural analysis of
fault rocks with one or several fields of expertise, for example, crustal scale
section balancing, state-of-the-art seismic imaging, or isotopic and/or
fission-track analysis for constraining the age of faulting. The successful
candidate will be expected to initiate his/her own program of research supported
by competative, third-party funding programs. Collaboration with members of the
Earth Science department as well as other departments in the Berlin-Potsdam
area is strongly encouraged. Teaching responsibilities include 4 hours of
lecturing per week and supervising BSc. and MSc. students in the field and
laboratory. Candidates will have a doctor’s degree (Ph.D.) in Earth Science. A strong
background in field-based geological research is desired.Further information
