> we would like to invite you to submit abstracts to session P21 “New challenges in Petroleum Geology”, which will be held at the upcoming 88th Congress of the Italian Geological Society (Naples, 7th-9th September 2016).

> The session is aimed at gathering together researchers both from academia and industry to discuss cutting edge research findings in the field of Petroleum Geology. Themes include, but are not limited to, regional geology, basin analysis, sequence stratigraphy, clastic and carbonate sedimentology, fault and fracture analysis, seismic interpretation, petrophysics and formation evaluation, reservoir modelling, fluid flow simulation. A wide audience of experts in the aforementioned disciplines is therefore invited to participate, in order to fuel a stimulating discussion on future perspectives of Petroleum Geology. The session is targeted to providing a forum for graduate and postgraduate students, who are encouraged to present their current research work as well as innovative and inspiring ideas. Professional geologists from the industry will be welcomed in order to understand the big challenges that the oil&gas industry is facing, in Italy as well as in the rest of the world: sharing experiences is believed to be the proper way to disseminate knowledge in the exploration and production of oil&gas.
