[Geoinfo] 2010 Meeting of the Americas

Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to attend the 2010 Meeting of the Americas in Foz do
Iguassu, Brazil, from August 8th to August 13th, 2010.

In particular, we are inviting our colleagues geoscientists to participate
in the Session:
GP14: paleomagnetic studies for the reconstruction of tectonic processes.
Conveners: Massimo Mattei, Francesca Cifelli (Roma TRE University), Manoel
D'Agrella Filho (University of Sao Paulo), Cecilia Spagnuolo (IESGLO,
Laboratorio de Sedimentologia, Fundacion Miguel Lillo).

Paleomagnetic studies provide information on the tectonic evolution of
deformed areas. For its great potential in quantifying vertical
axis-rotations, paleomagnetic studies have been used to reconstruct the
geological history of many regions around the world. The session provides
the opportunity for contributions that fall within the broad spectrum of
applications of paleomagnetism to tectonic studies. Contributions on the
definition of the kinematics of geological structures at different scales
are welcome, as well as tectonic reconstructions of complex geological
areas and implications on their geodynamic evolution.

The deadline to submit an abstract is 31 March 2010.
