Dear Colleagues,



We have a fully funded PhD position based at the University of Munich
concerning a high-resolution paleomagnetic study of a continuous section
dated around 815 Ma. The candidate will collect samples in the field and
then carry out intensive paleomagnetic and rock magnetic experiments on the
collection to distinguish between competing hypotheses, e.g., rapid
magnetic field change, true polar wander, etc. Moreover, the candidate will
perform high resolution U-Pb dating for six months at the University of
Geneva.
