[Latinmag] Candidacy of the National Observatory (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil): Latinmag 2023

Dear Colleagues,

I hereby present the candidacy of the *National Observatory (ON/MCTI - Rio
de Janeiro, Brazil)* to hold the 2023 meeting of the Latin American
Association of Paleomagnetism and Geomagnetism (Latinmag 2023), and in the
context of the establishment of the new Laboratory of Paleomagnetism and
Magnetic Mineralogy of our institution (*LP2M-ON*). According to our
planning, we intend to hold the event in the *first week of November 2023*.

Please find enclosed: (1) letter of support from the director of ON/MCTI to
the realization of the event; and (2) PDF file with pertinent information
about the history and institutional infrastructure, general aspects related
to the LP2M-ON, and justifications for our candidacy.
